Jessica Carter

Research Assistant

Jessica is a research assistant working on a variety of projects with Dr. Alan McGuire at the Roudebush VA Medical Center. She graduated from IU Bloomington in 2018 with a B.S. in Psychology and a certificate in Clinical Science.

During her undergraduate career, Jessica was a research assistant for Mary Murphy, PhD., where she studied the interaction of social identity and group memberships influence on individual thoughts, feelings, behaviors, physiology, and motivation. She was also an intern for Centerstone Research Institute where she worked on several projects, including the Implementing Measurement-based Care (iMBC) project. This project compared a standardized implementation strategy with a tailored implementation strategy for the use of measurement based care in the treatment of depression

Jessica has future plans to pursue graduate school in hopes of earning a PhD. in Clinical Psychology. Her research interests include implementation and dissemination of evidence-based interventions, specifically for those with severe mental illness. In her free time she enjoys running, reading, traveling, and trying new food!
